DESCRIPTORS  level 3

The students: 

-describe the main features of city/university problems

-analyze the causes and consequences of such problems

-express opinions and recommend possible solutions to those problems


INDICATORS

-use vocabulaty related to city/university problems such as transport, plagiarism, pollution, among others

-describe the main features of a problem pointing out its historical and social context

-analyze the causes and consequences of a problem using logical connectors and graphic organizers

-use modal verbs and conditionals to propose a recommendation to help solve this problem


-write informative texts on local issues




LEVEL 4


Descriptors:
-       Students search for information in their area of academic interest in databases, scientific journals, academic texts.
-       Analize information and are able to classify it consistently.
-       Synthesize the information and write academic reports.
-       Present an academic subject to an audience interested in the subject.
-       Understand lectures and presentations which deal with academic topics of their interests.


Indicators:
-       Students use vocabulary related to their field of study within academic contexts.
-       Select sources of information relevant to a specific topic of their interest.
-       Analyze information and are able to classify it consistently using graphic organizers, mind maps, summaries, glossaries.
-       Write simple academic texts (summaries, reports, news articles)
-       Establish an academic conversation with peers/or individuals interested in the subject.


Lexicon
-       Vocabulary related to university life  (name of study areas, academic processes, educational systems in other countries)
-       Sentence connectors showing logic

-       Prefixes and Suffixes
